6 Days Safari
We really recommend this 7-day safari so that you can see all the Northern National Parks in a relaxed way. Our tour guide will show you The Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, The Serengeti and the Ngorongoro reservation. There is also time for some culture experiences during this safari, such as visiting a Masai village and seeing the Hadzabe Bushmen.
Please allow us to arrange for your airport transfer and overnight stay before and after the safari.
Day 1
The safari departs from your hotel after breakfast. First stop is Arusha town for some last-minute purchases. Afterwards we head towards the Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch in the park. The Tarangire Park is famous because of its majestic baobab trees. You will also get to see the huge elephant population. After your first impression of this park, we will have a nice dinner and overnight stay at Fanaka lodge.
Day 2
Early in the morning after breakfast we leave to go to Lake Natron. A soda lake at the base of the active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano. The area around Lake Natron is often described as having a desolate and almost lunar beauty. It is the most important breeding site in the world for lesser flamingos. East Africa has 1.5 – 2.5 million lesser flamingos, representing three-quarters of the world population and most of them are hatched at Lake Natron. Food is plentiful, nesting sites abound – and above all, the lake is isolated and undisturbed. We will have a walk around the lake, and we will go to the waterfalls for some swimming. You will have your dinner and overnight stay at Lengai mountain lodge.
Day 3
After an early breakfast we will head out to the famous Serengeti. It will take about 4 hours to reach the gates of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is one of best places to observe wild animals in their natural environment. Each year many mammals cross the Serengeti to get to Kenya. The migration is a very impressive sight to see. All those animals thundering across the plains looking for water and grass. In the afternoon your guide will bring you to the Kati Kati tented lodges.
Day 4
Today we wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise. You will get the opportunity to take awesome pictures. After taking those pictures, we go back to our lodges for a nicely prepared breakfast. We then have a game drive in the Serengeti all day long. Late in the afternoon we will drive back for dinner and another overnight stay at the Kati Kati tented lodge.
Day 5
After having our breakfast, we will go on a short game drive in the Serengeti while we are heading to the Ngorongoro reservation. We will visit a Masai village on our way there. Here we can see how Masai people live and experience and learn about their traditions. We all know them by their colorful clothing and their beaded jewelry. We might also be able to see their traditional jumping dance. After that we will go to Rhino tented lodges for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6
Time flies, this is already our last day. We will be heading to the amazing Ngorongoro crater after breakfast. The steep path leads us down into the 610-meter-deep crater. The wildlife in the crater is amazing. With a little luck you will be able to see the Big Five; elephants, buffalos, leopards, lions and rhinos. Next to the big Five, you might be able to spot hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos. The presence of all these animals makes this crater unique and beautiful. After a morning of watching all these amazing animals and a picnic lunch close to the hippo pond, we will be heading back to Arusha where we arrive just before dinner time.
